Finance Manager (software development)

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial function across a group of technology and software development companies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing finance within a software development environment (preferably not subscription-based models), excellent communication skills, and professional accounting qualifications (CA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent). This role will support financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and strategic financial decision-making across business units.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant regulatory standards and internal policies.

Management Accounting: Lead financial analysis, variance reporting, and interpretation of financial data to guide business decisions.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and longterm financial plans in partnership with operational and technology leadership teams.

Cash Flow & Working Capital: Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure liquidity to support operational and strategic initiatives.

Cost Control & Optimization: Conduct analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement financial controls that enhance profitability.

Financial Strategy: Support strategic planning by providing insights on financial impacts of business decisions, growth opportunities, and investments.

Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure compliance with audit requirements, statutory filings, and internal controls.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with heads of operations, technology, and executive leadership to ensure alignment between financial objectives and business goals.

Stakeholder Communication: Present financial performance, trends, and financial insights clearly and professionally to senior management and key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience:

Professional qualification: CA / ACCA / CMA / equivalent.

Minimum of 710 years of progressive finance experience, ideally within a software development or technology services organization (not subscription services).

Proven track record in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial systems, and compliance requirements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment with evolving priorities.

Proficient in financial software tools, ERP systems, and advanced MS Excel skills.
