Finance Manager- (Technical Accounting)

About the Company

Our client is a growing UAE investment company with a private-equity style model and a diversified portfolio, including energy-sector interests. They are hiring a hands-on technical accounting specialist to own IFRS and deal accounting as the first dedicated hire in finance. It's a rare chance to get in early and grow into leadership as the function expands, with further hires already planned within six to eight months.

Key Responsibilities

• Own IFRS accounting for acquisitions, disposals and business combinations across the portfolio, including IFRS 3, 10, 9 and 13
• Prepare and review financial statements and consolidations for the company and its investments
• Advise leadership on the accounting impact of new deals, from structuring through to completion
• Handle the technical accounting behind energy-sector investments and other complex transactions
• Write clear accounting position papers and act as the main point of contact for external auditors
• Build the processes, controls and reporting a growing investment business needs, largely from scratch
• Help shape, recruit and onboard the finance team as it grows

Requirements

• 7 -10 years of work experience in similar roles and industry
• Qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent
• Strong, practical IFRS knowledge, with hands-on experience in acquisitions and M&A accounting rather than theory alone
• Background in Big Four audit or advisory, or finance within an investment, private equity or holding-company environment
• Exposure to energy-sector accounting is a strong advantage
