Job Description

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) , and handle team of two

Join a regulated financial services firm operating in the region's investment management space, providing comprehensive asset management, fund administration, and portfolio solutions to high-net-worth clients, family offices, and corporate investors. The organization combines disciplined risk management, global market access, and structured investment processes to help clients grow and preserve wealth over the long term.

Role Purpose

The Finance Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the firm, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong controls, regulatory compliance, and effective cash and cost management. The role acts as the operational backbone of the finance function and a key partner to the CFO in execution and oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Controls

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
  • Ensure timely and accurate close of accounts, including accruals, provisions, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls, segregation of duties, and audit trails.
  • Coordinate external audits and manage auditor queries and deliverables.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Support the CFO in preparing annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Track actual performance versus budget and provide variance analysis with clear explanations.
  • Develop financial models and management reports to support decision-making.

Cash, Treasury & Working Capital

  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and funding requirements.
  • Manage bank accounts, payment processes, and treasury operations.
  • Oversee receivables, payables, and expense controls.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with corporate tax, VAT (if applicable), and statutory filings.
  • Liaise with tax advisors and regulators as required.
  • Support regulatory reporting where applicable (e.g., SCA, DFSA, ADGM).

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Own the finance ERP/accounting system and ensure data integrity.
  • Improve finance processes, automation, and reporting efficiency.
  • Support implementation of new systems or upgrades where required.

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Supervise and review work of junior finance staff (if applicable).
  • Act as a key finance contact for internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with legal, compliance, operations, and external service providers.

Key Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Professional qualification preferred (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent).

Experience

  • 58 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
  • Strong exposure to financial reporting, audits, and budgeting.
  • Experience in asset management, investment banking, or regulated financial services is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS).
  • High attention to detail and strong control mindset.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle pressure.
  • Clear, structured communication with senior management.
