Job Summary
The FinOps Manager is a high-impact individual contributor role sitting within the Finance Operations function, reporting directly to the Director of Finance Operations. The employee will be a true partner to the FinOps Director in building the commercial and operational finance engine of CNTXT from the ground up.
This role spans four core pillars: Revenue Quality, Margin Intelligence, People Productivity, and Commercial Governance. The employee will work closely with the Revenue Department, CFO, and business line leads, touching commercial deals, margin review, and business line performance cycle.
Principal Duties & Detailed Job Description
Revenue Quality & Forecasting
- Track and report on bookings, revenue recognition by business line
- Maintain pipeline-to-revenue forecasting models and assist in monthly and quarterly revenue outlooks
Margin Intelligence & Cost-to-Serve
- Build and maintain gross margin models by business line and by deal, benchmarking against the company's margin threshold
- Develop and update cost models for services and products, incorporating direct costs, subcontractor costs, and allocated overheads
- Conduct margin distribution analysis (deal-level) to identify outliers and inform pricing decisions
People Productivity & Resource Finance
- Track billable utilization for Professional Services and Managed Services headcount and produce regular productivity reports
- Monitor Delivery bench cost
Commercial Governance & Deal Desk
- Serve as a key participant in the deal desk process, reviewing deal economics, pricing compliance, and contract value at risk prior to approval
- Maintain and update rate cards across business lines, ensuring consistency with approved pricing policies
- Support contract review from a Finance perspective, flagging commercial risks and ensuring policy adherence
Reporting, Projects & Finance Operations
- Prepare and maintain the Monthly Business Review
- Support town hall reporting and executive-level Finance presentations
- Act as Finance SPOC on projects as required
- Assist with AR follow-up and cash collection tracking in coordination with the Controller function
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Finance policies and procedures within FinOps
Qualification Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or other related professional certificates is a plus.
Work Experience
A Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in commercial finance, business finance, FP&A, or a related role.
- Background in a Technology or SaaS company, cloud services, or a technology-focused consulting firm; is a differentiator
- Exposure to revenue recognition under IFRS 15, particularly in a multi-element arrangement or services context
- Experience supporting or operating within a deal desk or commercial approval process
- Familiar with ERP systems and their integration with Finance reporting
- Prior experience in a startup, joint venture, or high-growth environment where processes are being built rather than inherited

Functional Job Competencies
- Strong financial modelling skills (advanced Excel/Google Sheets); experience with BI tools (Looker, Power BI, or equivalent) is advantageous
- Demonstrated experience in margin analysis, cost modelling, or deal economics
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple work streams, and communicate financial insights clearly to senior stakeholders
