Job Overview
The Finance Settlement & Reconciliation Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely settlement of transactions and full reconciliation across internal systems, banks, and third-party partners. This role plays a critical part in maintaining financial integrity, identifying discrepancies and supporting month-end closing in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of transactions between internal systems, banks, payment gateways and third-party providers.
- Manage settlement cycles and ensure timely and accurate posting of settled amounts.
- Investigate, analyze and resolve reconciliation breaks or discrepancies promptly.
- Monitor pending, failed or reversed transactions and follow up with relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare settlement and reconciliation reports for management and audit purposes.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to settlements and balances.
- Coordinate with operations, product, and external partners to resolve settlement issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance automation, accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in financial reconciliation, settlements or accounting operations.
- Strong understanding of transaction flows, settlements and clearing processes.
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).
- Experience working with ERP systems, financial systems or payment platforms is a plus.
- Ability to handle large volumes of data with accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Prior experience in fintech, banking, or payment services is an advantage.
