Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support the assessment and validation of financial submissions related to R&D tax incentive applications.

The role focuses on reviewing claimed project costs, validating supporting financial documentation, and ensuring compliance with program guidelines before final approval and certification.

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with strong backgrounds in financial analysis, audit, taxation, or public incentive program evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess financial data submitted as part of R&D tax incentive applications.
  • Validate claimed expenditures including employee costs, capital assets, external consultants, and third-party services.
  • Ensure all cost allocations are aligned with the program's financial eligibility framework and tax deduction requirements.
  • Investigate system-generated exceptions, financial discrepancies, and unusual claim patterns.
  • Cross-check financial submissions against project scope and technical documentation in coordination with internal technical reviewers.
  • Identify anomalies, unsupported costs, or potential compliance risks within applications.
  • Support continuous improvement of financial assessment templates, workflows, and automated validation rules within the evaluation platform.
  • Prepare clear evaluation notes, findings, and recommendations for certification decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline
  • 46 years of relevant experience in:
  • Financial analysis
  • Internal / external audit
  • Tax accounting
  • Compliance review
  • Public sector financial assessment
  • Prior experience in government entities, regulatory bodies, or incentive / grants programs will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of tax frameworks, financial controls, and cost validation methodologies
