Why this role matters
You will own the financial close, statutory reporting, and cash controls while leading AML/CTF practices end to end. Your work keeps the business compliant, audit-ready, and execution-focused as new payment products scale.
What you will do
- Run the monthly close and deliver accurate management accounts under IFRS
- Own cash management, bank reconciliations, working capital, and treasury routines
- Lead statutory reporting across VAT, Corporate Tax, ESR, UBO and regulatory filings in the UAE
- Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare schedules, and close audit findings
- Build and maintain internal controls, finance SOPs, and risk registers
- Design and operate AML/CTF framework - policies, KYC/EDD, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, STR/SAR via goAML, training, and record keeping
- Partner with operations and product on new payment flows to ensure accounting, tax, and AML fit
- Produce clear MI packs for management - P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variances, and KPIs
What you bring
- 5-8 years in accounting/controlling in financial services or payments in the UAE
- Strong IFRS, monthly close, and audit experience
- Solid command of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, ESR, UBO, and regulatory timelines
- Hands-on AML exposure in a regulated environment - CAMS or similar is a plus
- Advanced Excel and comfort with ERPs and bank portals - Power BI is a plus
- Meticulous, structured, and comfortable working cross-functionally with product, ops, and compliance
- Degree in Accounting/Finance - CPA/ACCA/CMA is an advantage
