Position Summary
Financial Controller will oversee the full finance operations for a multinational luxury retail and manufacturing group. The role is to ensures financial governance, accurate reporting, and strategic financial planning across entities in the UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Europe. The Financial Controller will lead regional finance teams, establish group-wide controls, optimize profitability, and support executive leadership in decision-making.
- Prepare annual sales budgets for all regions in coordination with the Retail Team and CEO Group.
- Support management with financial modeling for new store openings and expansion projects.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes across all entities.
- Analyze store-wise profit and loss statements and provide explanations for variances.
- Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
- Manage internal and external audits and coordinate with auditors across multiple jurisdictions.
- Plan inventory and raw material payment schedules in coordination with the Buying Team.
- Manage accounts payable by ensuring balances are reconciled and aligned with supplier statements.
- Ensure budget control for each buying season to ensure that buying teams are not exceeding the approved budget and ensure each PO is raised from their respective budget.
- Ensure full tax compliance across GCC and European regions (VAT, customs, excise, corporate tax).
- Monitor group cash flow, liquidity, and working capital requirements.
- Oversee banking relationships and credit facilities.
- Supervise store cash handling, stock management, and POS system integrations.
- Oversee cost accounting for manufacturing facilities, including WIP tracking and yield analysis.
- Review inventory valuation and shrinkage reports.
- Support pricing strategies for luxury products, including margin analysis and discount assessments, in coordination with the Planning and Merchandising Teams.
- Implement ERP enhancements to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency. This includes regular analysis of SAP customizations and add-ons, and continuous coordination with the SAP team and relevant departments to ensure automations function correctly and reports are accurate.
- Verify all payments to ensure accuracy and completeness and confirm that all required supporting documentation is properly reviewed and attached.
- Ensure the availability of required foreign currencies for international payments and manage related currency planning and coordination.
- Ensure that intercompany pricing complies with local regulations and transfer pricing requirements across all relevant jurisdictions.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations to ensure accurate recording, alignment of balances, and timely resolution of discrepancies across all group entities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA/ACCA/CMA preferred.
- Minimum 810 years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience in luxury retail, multi-country operations, or manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT/GCC taxation, and international financial regulations.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and strategic financial acumen.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multicultural teams.
- Experience of working with reputable international audit firms will be preferred
