Role Summary
Senior Accountant is a professional responsible for overseeing the financial accounting and reporting processes within an organization. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, managing the month-end and year-end closing processes, and preparing financial reports for stakeholders. They also play a key role in maintaining internal controls, driving process improvements, and providing financial analysis.
ROLE PROFILE
- Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Preparing and/or reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Managing the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Preparing financial reports for management and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/GAAP).
- Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Participating in audits and responding to audit requests.
- Process Improvement:
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline accounting operations.
- Working with other teams to improve efficiency and accuracy of financial processes.
- Financial Analysis:
- Preparing and analyzing financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasting.
- Providing insights and recommendations based on financial data.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Supervising or mentoring junior accountants.
- Working with other departments to resolve accounting issues.
- Staying up to date on accounting regulations and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA or equivalent certification (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proven experience in accounting, financial reporting, and R2R processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
