We are looking for a Financial Reporting Specialist to be based in Dubai for one of our Oil & Gas clients. Candidate will be responsible for the following;
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Supervise accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP).
- Perform and coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations by preparing or reviewing tax filings (e.g., VAT, Corporate Tax) and liaising with external tax advisors when needed.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations to internal and external auditors.
- Support cash flow management through accurate tracking of payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
- 35 years of accounting or Big 4 experience, with a solid understanding of general ledger, AP/AR, and financial reporting & IFRS.
- Experience in tax compliance and reporting, including VAT and Corporate tax.
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365, Tally, or similar ERP) and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage month-end/year-end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements.
