Job Description

Job Title: Fire Alarm Technician

Location: GCC / Middle East

Industry: Fire & Life Safety / MEP / Facility Management

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The Fire Alarm Technician is responsible for the installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and life safety systems to ensure compliance with project specifications, local civil defense regulations, and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, test, commission, and maintain fire alarm systems including detectors, manual call points, sounders, and control panels.
  • Troubleshoot faults in fire alarm wiring, devices, and panels.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of fire alarm systems.
  • Perform testing as per approved procedures and authority requirements.
  • Read and interpret fire alarm drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
  • Coordinate with engineers and other MEP teams during installation and commissioning.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, test records, and service logs.
  • Ensure compliance with Civil Defense, NFPA, and local authority standards.
  • Follow safety procedures and company SOPs at all times.

Systems & Brands

  • Addressable & Conventional Fire Alarm Systems
  • Knowledge of systems such as Honeywell, Siemens, Notifier, Edwards, Simplex, Bosch (any or similar).

Qualifications

  • ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or relevant trade.
  • Fire Alarm / Life Safety certification is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 25 years of experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
  • Experience in commercial buildings, hospitals, malls, and industrial facilities preferred.
  • GCC experience is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and system faults.
  • Understanding of NFPA standards and civil defense requirements.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
