Job Description

Position: Fire Fighting Systems Lead

Location: Qatar

Role Overview

The Fire Fighting Systems Lead is responsible for overseeing the development, coordination, and execution of firefighting system activities for assigned projects. This includes ensuring all workperformed internally or externallymeets project deadlines, budgets, quality standards, and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

During Tender/Bid Phase

  • Review and assess technical and contractual Tender Documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Prepare clarification requests to the Client and support the development of technical qualifications for proposals.
  • Identify and define potential alternatives, deviations, and optimization opportunities.
  • Establish scope boundaries and responsibilities for other project disciplines related to firefighting systems, providing all required technical input.
  • Develop cost estimates for active fire protection systems, equipment, and related engineering/procurement activities.
  • Prepare man-hour estimates for engineering and procurement tasks associated with the active fire protection scope.

During Project Execution

  • Contribute to developing the detailed project execution strategy.
  • Participate in project risk assessments.
  • Review and interpret contractual documents to ensure full compliance.
  • Define the activity list, deliverables, timeline, and schedule for the firefighting scope of work.
  • Track and report performance indicators in alignment with technical guidelines.
  • Ensure all project documents are prepared, reviewed, and approved per company and project procedures.
  • Report scope changes and provide updates to the Technical Manager and relevant project stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress of firefighting system activities, including man-hour usage and productivity.
  • Coordinate the assessment of design changes, ensuring timely implementation of approved modifications.
  • Maintain technical coordination with the Client.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary project reviews and provide discipline-specific input.

Technical Deliverables

  • Develop and issue the Active Fire Protection System design basis.
  • Prepare fire water network hydraulic calculations.
  • Develop and issue Firefighting P&IDs, PFDs, and Plot Plans.
  • Prepare specifications, datasheets, and purchase requisitions for firefighting system equipment.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of vendor bids for firefighting systems.
  • Follow up on vendor documentation and ensure timely issuance of required technical deliverables.
