Job Description
Summary
The Fitness Trainer plays an important role in creating a personalized and engaging wellness experience for guests while maintaining the highest standards of service, safety, and professionalism. The role combines fitness expertise with genuine hospitality, ensuring each interaction reflects the attentive and refined experience expected within a five-star environment.
Main Duties:
- Deliver personalized one-to-one fitness sessions based on guests individual goals, fitness levels, preferences, and physical capabilities, ensuring sessions are safe, engaging, and results-focused.
- Conduct professional fitness consultations and basic assessments, including gathering relevant health and exercise information, to recommend suitable training programs and wellness activities.
- Design and deliver a variety of individual and group fitness activities, such as strength and conditioning, functional training, mobility, stretching, circuit training, and other appropriate exercise sessions.
- Engage proactively with guests within the fitness and wellness areas, providing knowledgeable guidance on exercise techniques, equipment usage, recovery, and general fitness practices while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
- Demonstrate exercises and correct techniques clearly, monitoring guests throughout sessions to promote proper form, safe movement, and effective use of fitness equipment.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of the hotel's fitness, recreation, spa, and wellness offerings, confidently recommending relevant services and experiences based on individual guest interests.
- Ensure the fitness centre and associated exercise areas are consistently maintained to luxury presentation standards, including equipment arrangement, cleanliness, ambience, availability of amenities, and overall readiness for guests.
- Carry out routine checks of gym equipment and facilities, promptly reporting maintenance concerns, defects, safety hazards, or damaged equipment and following up appropriately to ensure a safe environment.
- Build professional guest relationships through attentive service, remembering preferences where appropriate and adapting training approaches to provide a personalized and memorable wellness experience.
- Support the planning and delivery of wellness initiatives, fitness events, seasonal activities, and guest engagement programs, contributing ideas that enhance the hotel's overall recreation and wellness offering.
- Maintain accurate records of appointments, personal training sessions, guest preferences, and relevant fitness information while ensuring confidentiality and appropriate handling of guest information.
- Respond professionally to guest requests, feedback, and concerns, coordinating with Spa, Recreation, Front Office, and other hotel departments when necessary to provide a seamless overall guest experience.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certification in Fitness Training, Personal Training, Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience as a Fitness Trainer or Personal Trainer, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, premium gym, or wellness environment.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification with sound knowledge of fitness-related health and safety practices.
- Strong knowledge of exercise techniques, strength and conditioning, functional training, mobility, stretching, and fitness assessment principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with guests of different nationalities, fitness levels, and individual requirements.
- Professional appearance with a service-oriented and guest-focused approach, demonstrating the discretion, attention to detail, and personalization expected in a five-star luxury hospitality environment.
