Job Summary
The Fleet Manager is responsible for managing the company's vehicle fleet to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation operations. The role focuses on fleet availability, maintenance, compliance, and optimization to support logistics and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring optimal utilization and availability.
- Plan and monitor vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with regulations.
- Track fuel consumption, mileage, and operating costs, and implement cost-control initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with transportation laws, safety standards, and internal policies.
- Coordinate vehicle assignments, routing, and scheduling in collaboration with logistics and operations teams.
- Manage relationships with external service providers, garages, and insurance companies.
- Oversee vehicle documentation, licensing, insurance, and renewals.
- Investigate and report accidents, damages, or violations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare fleet performance reports, KPIs, and cost analysis for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in fleet management, transportation, or logistics roles, preferably within FMCG, agriculture, or distribution environments.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, fleet operations, and transportation regulations.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage vendors and negotiate service agreements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with fleet management systems is an advantage.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, operational environment.
