Job Description

The Flight Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and enhancing safety across Flight Operations, Cabin Crew, and Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC). The role ensures effective implementation of the Safety Management System (SMS), conducts investigations, manages safety programs, and drives risk mitigation initiatives to maintain the highest safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety processes and procedures.
  • Oversee the implementation and effectiveness of the Safety Management System (SMS) across Flight, Cabin, and IOCC.
  • Ensure all safety reports are properly risk assessed and followed by corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct safety risk assessments, trend analysis, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Lead safety investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
  • Review and approve investigation reports, including corrective actions and recommendations.
  • Manage Flight Data Analysis Program (FDAP) to proactively identify hazards and risks.
  • Oversee Line Operations Safety Audit (LOSA) program implementation.
  • Monitor safety performance indicators (SPIs, SPTs, SOs) and ensure effective tracking.
  • Collaborate with Training teams to support Evidence-Based Training (EBT) through safety insights.
  • Liaise with internal departments, regulatory authorities, and external stakeholders on safety matters.
  • Participate in safety forums, industry meetings, and conferences.
  • Promote safety culture through campaigns, workshops, and internal communications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Aeronautical Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 6+ years of aviation experience, including at least 2 years in a safety-related role.
  • Strong knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS).
  • Valid Safety Management System (SMS) Certification is required.
  • Familiarity with GACARs, ICAO SARPs, and IATA standards.
  • Experience in safety investigations, auditing, and risk management.
  • Exposure to Flight Data Monitoring / FDAP is highly preferred.
  • Airmen certification (Pilot or Dispatcher) is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
