Job Description
The MEP Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, execution, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in construction projects. This role ensures that all MEP systems are efficient, compliant with regulations, and aligned with project requirements.
Responsibilities
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Planning
- Prepare and review MEP design drawings, calculations, and specifications
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders
- Ensure designs comply with local codes, standards, and regulations
Project Execution
- Supervise installation of MEP systems on-site
- Monitor project progress and ensure timelines are met
- Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues
Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Attend project meetings and provide technical input
- Ensure proper integration of MEP systems with civil works
Quality & Safety
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety regulations
- Conduct testing and commissioning of MEP systems
- Implement preventive maintenance strategies
Documentation
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and records
- Review shop drawings and material submittals
- Prepare as-built drawings and handover documents
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 38 years of experience in MEP engineering (varies by role level)
