Job Description

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, loading, unloading, stacking, and transportation of materials, cargo, containers, and inventory within the warehouse, yard, or terminal. The role ensures that all cargo handling activities are carried out in accordance with safety regulations, operational procedures, and productivity requirements.

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and relocate cargo, pallets, containers, and materials as required.
  • Support receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch operations.
  • Ensure cargo is handled carefully to prevent damage to goods, equipment, and facilities.
  • Verify cargo quantities and locations before movement.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete pre-operational safety checks.
  • Report equipment defects, maintenance requirements, accidents, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Follow loading plans and warehouse instructions to optimize storage and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with inventory counts, stock movements, and warehouse housekeeping activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and operating standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and operational activities when required.
  • Support warehouse and logistics teams in meeting productivity and service targets

Academic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Forklift Operator Certification and License (where required by local regulations).
  • Training in warehouse operations and occupational safety is an advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience operating forklifts in warehouse, logistics, terminal, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
  • Experience handling containers, palletized cargo, and bulk materials is preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of safe equipment operation and cargo handling practices.
  • Experience working within warehouse management and inventory control environments is an advantage.
