Role Description And Responsibilities
As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), you're where our platform meets the real-world. You'll work directly with clients to tackle their toughest technical challenges, implementing solutions that don't just work in theory - they work in production. From owning adapter development to collaborating with internal teams on core feature development, you'll ensure our platform delivers real value to clients. Operating with startup-level freedom on enterprise-scale problems, you'll manage the complete technical relationship with clients. This means everything from decoding their business constraints into technical specs to orchestrating seamless deployments in their unique environments. The field intelligence you gather doesn't just inform our roadmap - it drives it, creating a feedback loop between client needs and platform evolution. Client EngagementCoordinate end-to-end technical delivery for specific clientsRun technical calls, reviews, and sign-offs with client teamsTranslate technical constraints into internal requirements and collaborate with clients to develop feasible implementation strategiesTravel to client sites as needed (<20% travel expected)
Technical Implementation- Lead client-specific adapter implementation in customer environments
- Make architectural decisions within defined scope and escalate platform-level concerns to Principal Engineers
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, POs, and TLs on client-requested core feature implementation guidance, prioritization, and validation
- Work with infrastructure teams on deployments, release validation, multi-tenancy design, and deployment strategy
Knowledge & Process Development- Contribute field insights to product development
- Push to build reusable solutions for common patterns
- Document best practices and learnings for team knowledge sharing
Requirements
Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages and scripting - our current stack includes TypeScript and go. While you won't design core systems or drive product feature development, you'll need the experience to be able to contribute to client specific adapters through data mapping, API integrations and tenant configurationExperience debugging cloud-native environments - familiarity with relational databases, Kubernetes, durable execution (Temporal), logs, and tracesOwnership mindset and accountability for client successExcellent communication skills for technical calls and client interactionsCollaborative approach to working with both internal teams and external clientsAbility to translate technical constraints into business requirements and vice versaStrong problem-solving skills and sound escalation judgmentProven track record in client-facing roles preferred, but candidates with strong technical skills and desire to work on the frontlines are also welcomeConsulting, agency, or startup background is an advantageExperience working with cross-functional teams in rapidly changing environmentsBackground in production environment implementation and troubleshootingAbu Dhabi based permanent role (preferred) or remote contractor within UTC+1 to UTC+4 with willingness to travel to client sites (<20% travel)
