Forward Deployed Engineer Frontier AI

Hyphen Partners is engaged by a key player in AI — one of the defining companies of this generation — to build out its Forward Deployed Engineering team in Singapore. Multiple positions, across experience levels.

What this role actually is

Forward Deployed Engineers are the people who make frontier AI real inside the world's most important enterprises. You embed directly with customers — banks, governments, global enterprises across APAC — and you ship: scoping the problem alongside their leadership, building production-grade systems on top of frontier models, deploying into their environment, and owning what you built after launch.

This is not pre-sales. This is not consulting. Your output is running code in someone else's production environment — and the customer relationships that come from being the person who delivered it.

What you'll do

• Embed with enterprise customers across APAC to identify their highest-value AI use cases
• Design and build full-stack, LLM-powered systems end to end — discovery through production
• Work at the edge of what frontier models can do, feeding what you learn back into the product
• Operate with significant autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Travel up to 50% across the region

Who we're looking for

• 4+ years of engineering experience with production-grade full-stack work (Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript, or comparable)
• You've built and shipped LLM/GenAI-powered systems — not just used the tools
• Evidence of customer-facing engineering: you've scoped for, built with, or delivered directly to external customers
• Comfort owning outcomes end to end in high-ambiguity settings
• Based in Singapore, or open to relocating (relocation support provided)

• A forward deployed / deployment engineer at a company that pioneered this model
• A solutions architect or applied AI engineer who writes real code and is tired of stopping at the demo
• A GenAI delivery engineer at a hyperscaler or AI-native company, shipping into enterprise production
• A founding engineer — or founder — of an AI startup who wants frontier-scale impact
• A production engineer from a trading firm, fintech, or other regulated environment with serious LLM side-of-desk work
