Founding DevOps Engineer

We are an early-stage tech startup building a cross-platform mobile application that enables small business owners to design, customize, and deploy their own mobile apps using a drag-and-drop builder. Our platform includes:

• Frontend: React Native (Expo)
• Backend: Node.js
• Infrastructure: AWS
• Storage: Supabase
• Authentication: Email-based 2FA
• AI: Generative AI integrations

We currently have dedicated frontend, backend, full-stack, and design team members, and we are now looking for a strong DevOps Engineer to join as a founding team member.

We are looking for a midsenior level DevOps Engineer to build, automate, and optimize the infrastructure and CI/CD workflows for our React Native + Node.js application. This is an equity-only position designed for someone who wants to join a startup at an early phase and influence core architecture decisions.

• Build deployment automation for React Native (Expo) and Node.js
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or equivalent)
• Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC)
• Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Optimize infrastructure costs and backend configurations
• Support backend team with deployments and environment setup

• Own DevOps, cloud operations, and production reliability
• Improve system scalability, performance, and security
• Maintain automated mobile build processes (iOS & Android)
• Manage secrets, configurations, and multi-environment workflows
• Introduce and maintain automation that improves developer speed and efficiency

• 36+ years in DevOps/SRE/infrastructure engineering
• Strong experience with AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Deep experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Deployment experience with Node.js services
• Experience with React Native CI/CD, preferably with Expo EAS
• Strong knowledge of Docker and container workflows
• Experience with monitoring tools (Datadog, CloudWatch, etc.)
• Ability to design secure and scalable cloud architectures

• Startup experience
• Supabase or Firebase familiarity
• Terraform / CloudFormation / Pulumi
• Experience automating mobile build pipelines

This is an equity-only role (no salary at this stage).

Equity Range:0.5% 2%, depending on experience and commitment level.
