We are excited to announce an opportunity for Freight Specialist at Logistiq, part of the Landmark Group. Logistiq is a dynamic, fast-growing logistics company in the GCC, with the vision to provide world-class logistics accessible to all. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of services from last mile delivery, warehousing to freight forwarding, trucking & distribution.

The Landmark Group began its journey in 1973 with one store in Bahrain and has grown into one of the largest retail and hospitality conglomerates in the Middle East, Africa and India. Currently the Group operates over 2,200 outlets, encompassing over 30 million square feet across 21 countries.

The Freight Specialist will play a critical role in managing end-to-end freight operations while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational excellence. This role involves coordinating air, sea, and land shipments, managing shipping documentation, liaising with customers and service providers, and supporting commercial activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and experienced in freight forwarding operations with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Freight Operations & Customer Service

  • Manage and monitor end-to-end air, sea (FCL/LCL), and land freight shipments.
  • Assist customers with inquiries, shipment bookings, order updates, and shipment tracking.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, overseas agents, customs brokers, and transport carriers regarding shipment status and ETAs.
  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate updates to customers.
  • Resolve customer concerns, complaints, and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external service providers to ensure smooth freight operations.
  • Identify shipment discrepancies, troubleshoot delays, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve customer service processes and enhance customer satisfaction.

2. Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare, verify, and process shipping documentation including Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Bills of Lading, and other freight-related documents.
  • Liaise with customs brokers to facilitate customs clearance and manage delivery orders and duty payments.
  • Verify freight invoices, process operational charges, and manage container deposits and delivery orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, shipment details, and operational transactions.
  • Ensure all freight activities comply with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and local/international trade regulations.

3. Sales & Commercial Support

  • Prepare and issue competitive freight quotations for air, sea, and land transportation services.
  • Negotiate freight rates with shipping lines, airlines, transporters, and other logistics partners.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Support the business development team by preparing customer proposals and maintaining accurate sales records.
  • Ensure CRM systems are regularly updated with customer, lead, and shipment information.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and commercial analyses for management review.

4. Process Improvement & Stakeholder Management

  • Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, overseas agents, and internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor operational performance and recommend improvements to streamline freight processes.
  • Act as a key point of contact for freight-related inquiries and ensure effective communication across all parties involved.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 3–5 years of experience in freight forwarding, logistics operations, customer service, or a related role.
  • Hands-on experience managing air, sea (FCL/LCL), and land freight shipments.
  • Experience in customs clearance processes and shipping documentation is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience using freight forwarding systems, ERP platforms, and CRM tools.
  • Strong understanding of international shipping procedures, documentation, and trade regulations.
  • Ability to prepare quotations, analyze freight costs, and manage operational records.
