Role Summary
We are seeking a French-speaking Finance Manager to oversee finance operations at group level for a diversified family business with multiple business arms. The role will lead group financial planning, reporting, controls, compliance, cash management, and performance analysis across entities, while strengthening governance and supporting leadership with clear financial insights and decision support.
Key Responsibilities
Group Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead monthly/quarterly group reporting (management accounts, dashboards, variance analysis) across all business units.
- Consolidate financials across entities and ensure timely, accurate reporting to group leadership.
- Prepare annual financial statements and coordinate external audits (group and entity level).
- Build and maintain group financial policies, reporting templates, and closing calendars.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance
- Drive the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts for each business arm and at group level.
- Produce actionable analysis on profitability, cost drivers, working capital, and investment returns.
- Partner with business heads to improve unit economics, pricing, and operational efficiency.
Cash Flow, Treasury & Working Capital
- Oversee cash flow planning and group liquidity across entities.
- Manage banking relationships, payment cycles, and treasury controls.
- Improve working capital management (receivables, payables, inventory where applicable).
Controls, Governance & Risk
- Strengthen internal controls and financial governance across the group (authorizations, segregation of duties, reconciliations).
- Ensure compliance with local regulations (tax, statutory reporting, labor-related finance requirements as applicable).
- Implement risk management practices for fraud prevention, contract compliance, and financial exposures.
Tax, Compliance & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with external advisors on tax planning, filings, and regulatory requirements in Madagascar.
- Maintain strong relationships with auditors, banks, legal advisors, and relevant authorities.
- Support corporate structuring decisions and intercompany arrangements (where needed).
Systems & Process Improvement
- Improve finance processes across entities (procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, month-end close).
- Support implementation/upgrades of accounting/ERP systems and introduce standardized group reporting.
- Build capability in finance teams: coaching, performance management, and training.
Strategic Support to Leadership
- Provide financial due diligence and analysis for new ventures, expansions, capex, and acquisitions.
- Prepare board/family-owner packs in French, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to help the group professionalize and scale.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics (Master's and/or professional qualification preferred: ACCA/CPA/CMA/DEC).
- 710+ years progressive finance experience, ideally including multi-entity/group reporting.
- Experience working in diversified businesses (e.g., trading, services, manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, hospitality, real estate) is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and statutory reporting; consolidation experience preferred.
- Proven capability in budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls.
- High proficiency with Excel; experience with ERPs/accounting systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, Odoo, QuickBooks, etc.).
Language Requirements
- Fluent French (written and spoken) mandatory
- English proficiency is a strong advantage.

Working Conditions
