Job Purpose
The Full-Time Faculty member in Physics will teach undergraduate physics courses, mentor students, and contribute to the academic mission of the School of Arts and Sciences. This position is responsible for fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment, applying innovative teaching methods, and integrating real-world applications into the curriculum to prepare students for academic and professional success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate physics courses ranging from introductory to advanced levels.
  • Develop and deliver course materials using effective and innovative teaching practices across multiple modalities (classroom, hybrid, and online).
  • Advise, mentor, and support students in their academic and professional development.
  • Engage in program and course assessment to ensure continuous improvement and alignment with learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement to broaden program offerings.
  • Participate in faculty governance, service, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students.
  • Ability to teach using multiple instructional modalities and integrate technology into teaching.
  • Experience with learning management systems and instructional technologies.
  • Collaborative approach to working across disciplines and contributing to a diverse academic community.

Education and Experience

  • PhD in Physics or a closely related field (PhD preferred).
  • University teaching experience (preferred).
  • Background in program and course outcomes assessment (highly desirable).
