Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Garment Technical Engineer to join our team on-site at our Qesm 2nd Nasser City location. In this role, you will oversee garment production, ensure quality and compliance with technical specifications, and collaborate with design and production teams. Key responsibilities include pattern development, conducting quality inspections, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring production efficiency to meet deadlines and targets.
Job Description
- Review and validate all Tech Packs to ensure clarity, accuracy, and production readiness.
- Coordinate with the pattern team to develop patterns, size charts, and initial samples.
- Review internal samples and provide detailed feedback and required adjustments before approval.
- Ensure proper development and approval of Fit, Size Set, and Pre-Production samples.
- Reject any samples received from factories that do not meet the approved specifications.
- Document and communicate all sample comments, rejections, and required corrections clearly.
- Ensure alignment with the design team for color approvals and technical details.
- Standardize measurement methods (How to Measure) and ensure consistency across all Tech Packs.
- Define acceptable tolerances and exceptions for Pre-Production samples.
- Manage and track all samples (Size Set, Pre-Production, Reference samples) as official production references.
- Review and improve garment details such as labels, trims, and finishing for better quality and comfort.
- Ensure Pre-Production samples are approved before bulk production starts.
- Communicate any technical changes to all stakeholders (Design, Planning, Production) via official channels.
- Oversee denim approvals (fit and washing), including shade tolerance acceptance.
- Maintain consistency in model numbering and color coding across collections.
- Ensure availability of approved reference samples both in-office and at factories.
- Support final approval of technical files received from the design team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Textile Engineering, or a related field
- 5-7years of experience in the garment industry
- Technical expertise in garment production, knowledge of pattern drafting, and functional fit assessments
- Experience working with Tech Packs and sample development cycles.
- Good knowledge of fabrics, washing processes, and trims.
- Strong understanding of fabric properties, sewing techniques, and quality assurance processes
- Strong ownership and accountability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and technical documentation.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
