Overview:
The GCP Infrastructure Expert will be responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing Google Cloud Platform environments across Aramco Digital. The role requires deep expertise in GCP services, operational excellence, cloud governance, and automation frameworks. The SME will serve as a primary technical authority, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant cloud operations aligned with enterprise and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer GCP environments including IAM, VPC, interconnects, firewalls, service accounts, and resource hierarchies.
- Oversee day-to-day operations, monitoring, incident response, and platform health management.
- Implement network, compute, storage, and security best practices across GCP workloads.
- Work with architects to design secure, scalable, and cost-optimized GCP solutions.
- Lead implementation of GCP services such as Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
- Ensure compliance with internal and industry-specific security standards.
- Develop automation using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or CI/CD tools.
- Monitor GCP resource utilization and optimize costs.
- Serve as L3 GCP escalation point and perform root-cause analysis
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Preferred to have professional certifications such as: Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer, and Terraform Associate.
Experience:
- 8–12 years of experience in managing enterprise cloud environments with at least 5 years of experience in Google Cloud Platform administration.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of IAM, VPC networking, GKE, logging, automation, and Google Cloud CLI
