Job Overview:

The positions responsibilities center around managing the climbing gear station area, and gear station storage area, and the flow of equipment through the gear station. Customers need to be checked in, and sent, or escorted, in the correct directions with the correct equipment and information. Equipment going through the gear station needs arranging, tracking and inspection throughout. Collecting, scanning and checking daily documentation is also required. The role will, on occasion, involve stepping in to an assistant role for the instructors in the team by, (not exclusively limited to) translating, assisting, preparing, or escorting.

Job Scope:

• Welcoming arriving guests, in a well presented, positive way.
• Check arriving customers have checked in, paid and signed waivers
• Check where customers are going, and provide the correct cards and information
• Identify booking concerns and escalate
• Describe to customers the facility and how to get around
• Be able to describe the products available
• Advice customers on products suited to them and their current abilities.
• Provide Equipment and record equipment going out and returning
• Allow or decline equipment rental based on customer assessment levels
• Present and organize rental equipment
• Clean and Arrange rental equipment
• Ensure customers go only where they are permitted to go
• Keep the gear station area tidy, and report any facility cleaning requirements
• Scan and record daily documentation
• Assist Instructors, where required to ensure smooth running
• Inspect equipment on hand over, and return and record usage incidents.
• Escalate any safety concerns immediately.

Desirable:

• Higher secondary or equivalent
• 1 year as a front line colleague in the entertainment / leisure industry, specifically Operations, and ideally working with a broad age range in a sports environment. Has worked with customers on a face to face basis.
• An interest in climbing and sports
