The accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing various financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with relevant accounting principles, regulations, and company policies. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial health by preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting reconciliations, and supporting budgeting processes. The accountant will work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support.

Educations and Certificates:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare accounting regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- SKILLS AND PORFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare, financial regulations and compliance.
- Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes.
- Understanding of cost accounting and budgeting within the healthcare environment.
- Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
- Knowledge of tax regulations applicable to healthcare organizations.

- GENERAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Maintain organized financial documentation and files.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and provide input on financial matters.
- Support administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling and correspondence.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy in journal entries and transaction classifications
- Prepare and maintain monthly general entries and schedules for prepayments & accruals.
- Process and manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, reconciliations and vendor payments.
- Prepare daily cash & pos reconciliation of branches.
- Prepare & Review expenses claims and petty cash invoices from employees.
- Conduct bank and account reconciliations regularly to ensure alignment between company records and financial institutions.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Compile financial data and ensure accurate reporting.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, tax regulations, and internal controls. Prepare documentation for audits and liaise with auditors as needed.
- Assist in preparing Vat documentation and submission of Vat returns.
- Identify areas for process improvements, streamline workflows, and implement best practices in financial management.
- Liaise with other departments to support financial operations.
- Complete any other Ad-hoc activities as may be requested by line manager
