Job Summary
The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company's general ledger, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, supporting the monthly and year-end closing processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilitie
- sPrepare and post journal entries accurately and on time
- .Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- .Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities
- .Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- .Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
- .Ensure compliance with IFRS, local regulations, and internal accounting policies
- .Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit engagements
- .Support VAT/Zakat and other statutory reporting requirements
- .Analyze financial transactions and recommend corrective actions when necessary
- .Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules, where applicable
- .Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
- .Support process improvements and accounting system enhancements
- .Perform other accounting duties as assigned
.Qualification
- sBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- .Professional certification (SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CMA) is preferred
- .3–5 years of experience in General Ledger accounting or financial reporting
- .Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Odoo, etc.)
- .Strong knowledge of IFRS and Saudi accounting regulations
- .Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
