About the Job

We have an exciting opportunity for an General Ledger Accountant Cum Tax Incharge to join our team at Yas Plaza Hotels. General Ledger (GL) Accountant will support the accurate recording and reconciliation of financial transactions for our hotel's. This role is vital to maintaining the integrity of the hotel's financial statements by managing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and supporting the month-end and year-end close processes. As Tax In-Charge, the role will also be responsible for preparing, reconciling, submitting and maintaining compliance of VAT and statutory tax filings in accordance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with hotel policies and accounting standards.
• Post daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries for accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.
• Reconcile key balance sheet accounts such as cash, receivables, payables, payroll, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal management reports.
• Work closely with the Income Auditor, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate results.
• Assist with audits by preparing required documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with the Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry (USALI) and relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS).
• Identify and suggest improvements to streamline and strengthen accounting processes.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the hospitality or hotel industry.
• Strong understanding of general ledger principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with VAT reporting, FTA audits, reverse charge mechanism and tax compliance systems
• Familiarity with hotel systems such as Opera PMS, MICROS POS, SunSystems, M3, or similar platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
