Job Summary:
As a Senior General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records. You will play a key role in supporting the timely preparation of financial statements and collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:
• General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Account Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including bank and intercompany transactions. Investigate and resolve discrepancies to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards such as IFRS and ZATCA. Provide insights and variance analysis to support financial performance.
• Compliance and Audit Assistance: Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, controls, and regulatory requirements. Support both internal and external auditors during audits.
• Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within accounting processes and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Mentorship and Training: Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and assist with their development in resolving complex accounting issues.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data and reporting. Participate in cross-departmental projects to align accounting practices with business objectives.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA or equivalent certification is a plus).
• Experience: 4+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger management and financial reporting, preferably in a SaaS environment.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IFRS), proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Zoho, or similar), and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail capabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and provide clear guidance.
