About the Company
We are a top-3 leading provider in Saudi Arabia's drilling and geological services market, currently operating 21 rigs. The organization is entering an aggressive expansion phase—scaling the fleet to 60+ rigs over the next 5 years, integrating digital rig performance systems, launching an internal training academy, and preparing for IPO readiness.
The Role
As the General Manager (COO Level) of the Drilling Division, you will serve as the executive operations leader. You will oversee day-to-day drilling execution, project planning, maintenance, HSE, and supply chain across five operational divisions.
Your primary goal will be to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations while driving rapid fleet expansion across the Kingdom.
Key Responsibilities
• Operational & Growth Leadership: Drive execution across all active rigs to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, within budget, and to technical specification. Lead the deployment of digital rig performance analytics.
• HSE Excellence: Own safety performance across all operational sites, cultivate a zero-harm culture, ensure strict regulatory compliance, and lead incident prevention efforts.
• Fleet Maintenance & Reliability: Oversee preventative maintenance strategies and spare parts supply to minimize rig downtime and optimize lifecycle costs.
• Logistics & Supply Chain: Direct site mobilization/demobilization, procurement, materials management, and operational vendor contracts.
• Financial & Commercial Oversight: Manage divisional P&L, establish operational budgets, drive margin improvements, and support commercial client engagements.
• Team Development: Build, mentor, and scale field and office teams across divisions while establishing robust competency and training frameworks.
What We're Looking For
Experience:
• 12+ years in drilling, oil & gas, or mining/resource sector operations, including 5+ years in a senior executive role (GM, Operations Director, or COO level).
• Proven success managing simultaneous multi-rig projects and multidisciplinary operational teams.
• Demonstrated P&L responsibility, budgeting, and cost-control experience.
• Strong track record of driving HSE transformations and fleet reliability programs.
Education & Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Mining) or Operations Management (MBA or Master's is desirable).
• Deep technical understanding of rig systems, site logistics, and preventative maintenance strategies.
• Pragmatic, results-driven leadership style with willingness to travel regularly to field/rig locations.
• Certifications in HSE (NEBOSH/IOSH) or Project Management/LEAN (PMP, Six Sigma) are highly desirable.
Why Join Us
• Scale & Impact: Lead a key division taking a market-leading operations fleet from 20 to 60+ rigs.
• Strategic Position: Direct reporting line to executive leadership in a growth phase building toward an IPO.
• Innovation: Drive the digitalization of rig performance systems and state-of-the-art operational standards.
