Job Description

Role Purpose

The General Manager (GM) is responsible for leading, managing, and scaling Invent Production by overseeing all business operations including design, production, factory operations, projects, sales, finance coordination, HR alignment, and client delivery.

The GM ensures strategic growth, operational excellence, profitability, quality control, and team performance, while positioning Invent as a leading event and exhibition production company in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Business Growth

• Develop and execute short-, mid-, and long-term business strategies aligned with Invent's vision and market positioning.

• Identify new revenue streams (events, exhibitions, rentals, modular systems, content, production solutions).

• Lead market expansion, strategic partnerships, and key client relationships.

• Represent Invent at high-level meetings, negotiations, and industry forums.

2. Operational & Project Oversight

• Oversee end-to-end project delivery (from RFP to handover) ensuring timelines, quality, and profitability.

• Ensure seamless coordination between:

• Design & Creative

• Production & Factory

• Procurement & Logistics

• Events & Site Operations

• Approve major project plans, execution strategies, and risk mitigation plans.

• Ensure fast-track project readiness under tight deadlines (exhibitions, summits, government events).

3. Factory & Production Management

• Oversee all factory operations, fabrication quality, capacity planning, and resource allocation.

• Ensure proper implementation of SOPs, safety standards, and quality control systems.

• Optimize factory efficiency, reduce waste, and improve cost control.

• Approve machinery investments, maintenance plans, and production workflows.

4. Financial Management & Profitability

• Work closely with Finance to:

• Review budgets, forecasts, and cash flow

• Approve pricing strategies, margins, and markups

• Monitor project profitability and cost control

• Ensure financial discipline across departments.

• Approve major expenditures, contracts, and supplier agreements.

5. Sales, Commercial & Client Relations

• Oversee sales strategy, pipeline development, and bid management.

• Ensure pricing reflects value, quality, and risk, not only competition.

• Lead key client negotiations and high-value proposals.

• Maintain strong relationships with government entities, developers, brands, and agencies.

6. Team Leadership & HR Alignment

• Lead department heads across:

• Design

• Production & Factory

• Events

• Sales

• Procurement

• Admin / HR (alignment, not execution)

• Set clear KPIs, performance reviews, and accountability structures.

• Build a strong leadership culture focused on ownership, clarity, and execution.

• Ensure proper staffing, succession planning, and team development.

7. Governance, Risk & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with:

• Saudi labor laws

• Health & safety regulations

• Company policies and internal controls

• Identify operational and financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

• Report regularly to the CEO / Board on performance, risks, and opportunities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business, or Management

(MBA or equivalent is a strong advantage)

• 10–15+ years of experience in:

• Events, exhibitions, fit-out, or production industries

• With at least 5 years in a senior leadership role

• Strong understanding of:

• Factory operations & fabrication

• Event & exhibition delivery

• Financial control & project margins

• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.

• Background in event production, exhibitions, or design-build environments

• Experience working with government entities and large developers

• Strong Arabic & English communication skills
