General Manager

We are looking for a General Manager who understands how food manufacturers buy, formulate and grow.

Our client is an established B2B food ingredients business with manufacturing in Egypt and an expanding customer base across dairy, food manufacturing and regional export markets. The business has momentum. The next stage requires a leader who can convert that momentum into stronger margins, deeper customer partnerships and a more scalable operation.

This is a full P&L mandate covering commercial growth, manufacturing, finance, R&D and people.

The commercial challenge is central to the role. You will strengthen relationships with major dairy and food manufacturers, build a more disciplined key account approach and develop new business across Egypt + GCC and selected export markets. You will work closely with customers, technical teams and R&D to turn application needs into commercially viable products, including higher value food solutions.

You will also ensure that manufacturing can support the growth plan. This means improving capacity utilization, yield, service levels, quality and cost control while protecting food safety standards. You do not need to be a plant engineer, but you must understand manufacturing economics and be comfortable holding Operations accountable.

The right person is likely to bring:

• General management or senior commercial leadership experience within food ingredients, food solutions or a relevant B2B food manufacturing business

• Strong relationships with dairy, beverage, bakery, confectionery or wider food manufacturing customers

• Full P&L ownership with clear evidence of revenue growth, margin improvement and cash discipline

• Experience connecting sales, applications, R&D and manufacturing around customer needs

• Exposure to Egypt or another complex emerging market where currency, imported inputs and working capital materially affect decisions

• The ability to build a capable management team, create accountability and retain strong people

We want a grounded business leader who can sit credibly with a customer's procurement and technical teams in the morning, challenge plant performance in the afternoon and make the right P&L decision before the day is over.

Substance will matter more than presentation. The evidence will be in what you have grown, improved and built, and in the people who became stronger under your leadership.
