Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women's and children's hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women's Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.
The General Practitioner - Obstetrics & Gynecology is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services to women across various stages of life. The role supports the Obstetrics & Gynecology department through the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients presenting with common gynecological and obstetric conditions. The physician works collaboratively with Specialist and Consultant Obstetricians & Gynecologists to ensure safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care in accordance with DAEH, DOH, and international clinical practice standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient obstetric and gynecological care within the scope of granted clinical privileges.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage common obstetric and gynecological conditions and refer complex cases to Specialists and Consultants as appropriate.
- Support antenatal, postnatal, labor ward, and emergency obstetric services.
- Perform routine clinical procedures, order and interpret diagnostic investigations, and develop treatment plans.
- Educate and counsel patients on pregnancy, reproductive health, contraception, preventive care, and wellness.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with DAEH, DOH, and international clinical practice standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary care, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- DOH License or Eligibility as a General Practitioner.
- Minimum 2 years of post-internship clinical experience, preferably in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
- Experience in women's health, antenatal and postnatal care, gynecology clinics, and hospital-based practice is preferred.
- Strong clinical, communication, and patient counseling skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
