Danat Al Emarat is a world-class specialty women's and children's hospital in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. It offers advanced medical services across specialties including Neonatology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Women's Health. The hospital is one of the very few to encompass a dedicated Fetal Medicine Department along with a full-fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in the UAE. This has established Danat Al Emarat as a regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies, supported by its Level III NICU providing care for the most fragile newborns.
The General Practitioner - Pediatrics is responsible for providing high-quality primary and preventive healthcare services to infants, children, and adolescents. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing common pediatric conditions while ensuring safe, family-centered care and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical examinations for pediatric patients.
- Diagnose and manage common acute and chronic childhood illnesses.
- Provide preventive healthcare services, including growth monitoring, developmental assessments, and immunizations.
- Manage minor pediatric emergencies and stabilize patients when required.
- Educate parents and caregivers on disease prevention, nutrition, child development, and health promotion.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and medical records.
- Collaborate with pediatric specialists and allied health professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Adhere to clinical governance, patient safety, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of an accredited internship program.
- Valid DOH License or eligibility as a General Practitioner.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, or Primary Care with pediatric exposure.
- Strong knowledge of pediatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and families.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
