Job Description

A growing hospitality group in Doha is seeking an experienced General Services Manager to take overall responsibility for the group's shared support services, including Transport & Fleet, Maintenance, Staff Accommodation, Cleaning and Laundry.

This is a group-wide role designed to bring stronger structure, accountability and service standards to essential support functions that directly impact staff welfare, operational continuity and outlet performance.

The successful candidate will be a practical, hands-on manager with strong multi-site experience, capable of managing internal teams, external contractors, budgets and service-level agreements across multiple locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESShared Services Management
  • Take overall responsibility for Transport & Fleet, Maintenance, Staff Accommodation, Cleaning and Laundry across the group.
  • Establish clear procedures, schedules, service standards and accountability for each function.
  • Ensure shared services consistently support the operational requirements of all restaurants, catering operations and Central Kitchen.
Transport & Fleet
  • Manage the group's staff transportation operations, including routes, schedules, vehicle allocation and driver coordination.
  • Align transport schedules with Central Kitchen production, delivery requirements and outlet staffing needs.
  • Manage fleet maintenance, vehicle availability and replacement planning.
  • Monitor vehicle utilisation, running costs and downtime.
  • Develop and maintain an effective staff transport policy.
Maintenance & Facilities
  • Take ownership of preventative and reactive maintenance across Central Kitchen, restaurants, offices and accommodation sites.
  • Establish and monitor maintenance SLAs for internal teams and external contractors.
  • Ensure urgent maintenance issues are responded to quickly to minimise operational disruption.
  • Maintain an effective preventative-maintenance programme.
  • Manage relationships with maintenance contractors and service providers.
  • Escalate major structural, electrical or landlord-related issues to the General Manager with clear cost and timeline recommendations.
Staff Accommodation
  • Oversee standards across all staff accommodation facilities.
  • Ensure appropriate standards of hygiene, safety, room capacity and general living conditions.
  • Conduct regular accommodation inspections and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Coordinate accommodation-related maintenance and planned upgrades.
  • Ensure accommodation facilities comply with applicable Qatar regulations and company standards.
Cleaning & Housekeeping
  • Manage cleaning and housekeeping operations across all group locations.
  • Establish cleaning schedules, standards and inspection procedures.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness across restaurants, Central Kitchen, offices and accommodation facilities.
  • Monitor internal and outsourced cleaning teams and address performance issues.
Laundry Operations
  • Oversee the group's laundry operation, including uniforms, linen and related consumables.
  • Ensure sufficient laundry capacity and timely distribution to all outlets and Central Kitchen.
  • Monitor laundry costs, stock levels, equipment and service standards.
Vendor & Contractor Management
  • Manage relationships with external contractors and service providers, including:
  • Maintenance
  • Pest control
  • Waste management
  • Cleaning
  • Laundry
  • Transport services
  • Other facilities-related suppliers
  • Negotiate commercial terms and service levels.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure agreed SLAs are achieved.
Budget & Cost Management
  • Manage shared-services OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Monitor expenditure across multiple cost centres.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs.
  • Report budget variances and provide clear explanations and corrective recommendations to Finance and the General Manager.
  • Support future vehicle, equipment and facilities investment planning.
Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure shared services and facilities comply with relevant Qatar regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with relevant departments to address Civil Defence, Ministry of Public Health and municipality requirements where applicable.
  • Ensure findings from inspections and site walkthroughs are properly documented and closed within agreed timelines.
  • Maintain appropriate records, certificates and compliance documentation.
Business Continuity
  • Ensure transport, maintenance, accommodation and other shared services do not negatively impact restaurant and catering operations.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for significant facilities or transport-related operational issues.
  • Develop practical contingency plans for vehicle breakdowns, major equipment failures, accommodation issues and other service disruptions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 6–8 years experience in facilities, general services, administration or shared-services management.
  • Proven experience managing multiple sites within hospitality, restaurants, catering, retail or another operations-heavy environment.
  • Experience managing a staff transport operation and/or owned vehicle fleet.
  • Experience managing staff accommodation or labour housing, preferably in Qatar or the GCC.
  • Strong experience managing maintenance teams, contractors and service-level agreements.
  • Experience managing cleaning, housekeeping and/or laundry operations is highly desirable.
  • Strong budget and cost-control experience across multiple functions.
  • Experience managing vendors, contractors and service providers.
  • Qatar or GCC hospitality experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with relevant Qatar health, safety, Civil Defence and municipality requirements is advantageous.

REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

The General Services Manager will provide the General Manager with:

  • Weekly Shared Services Report covering transport, fleet, maintenance, accommodation, cleaning and laundry.
  • Monthly Facilities & Maintenance Report including outstanding jobs, recurring issues and SLA performance.
  • Fleet Report covering utilisation, availability, maintenance, downtime and operating costs.
  • Staff Accommodation Report covering occupancy, inspections, compliance and outstanding actions.
  • Vendor & Contractor Performance Report including SLA compliance and key issues.
  • Budget & Cost Report covering OPEX, CAPEX and significant variances.
  • Compliance & Corrective Action Report tracking outstanding safety and facilities findings.
IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, hands-on General Services / Facilities professional with strong multi-site experience in hospitality or a similar operational environment.

You should be comfortable managing transport, fleet, maintenance, accommodation, cleaning and laundry simultaneously, while coordinating closely with restaurant and catering operations.

The successful candidate will bring structure, accountability and cost discipline to the group's shared services and ensure that operational teams receive reliable and efficient support across all locations.
