We are looking for a skilled and reliable General Technician to support the hotel's Engineering and Maintenance operations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in general maintenance and be able to respond promptly to repair and maintenance requirements while ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for guests and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out daily preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the hotel.
- Attend to maintenance requests related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, AC, and general building maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, facilities, and equipment.
- Perform basic AC cleaning and servicing as required.
- Carry out minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general repair works.
- Respond promptly to guest and hotel department maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Ensure all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to hotel standards.
- Maintain and properly store tools, equipment, and maintenance materials.
- Report major defects, equipment failures, and maintenance requirements to the Engineering Supervisor.
- Assist specialized technicians and contractors when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping of work areas after completing tasks.
- Follow all hotel health, safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within the hotel.
- Provide support to other Engineering activities as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a General Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role, preferably in a hotel or resort.
- Hands-on knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, AC, painting, carpentry, and general maintenance.
- Experience in hotel, resort, commercial building, or facility management is preferred.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Safety-conscious, reliable, and service-oriented.
- Ability to respond effectively to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Willingness to live and work in a remote resort location
