General Technician - Civil

Summary

Scope of Job

To inspect, maintain, repair, and improve all civil, structural, architectural, and finishing elements of the hotel property, ensuring a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Diploma, ITI, Trade Certification, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Building Maintenance, Masonry, Carpentry, Construction Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a General Technician, Civil Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
• Previous experience in hotels, resorts, commercial buildings, hospitals, or large facilities is preferred.
  
  

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Operational

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance programs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
• Repair damaged walls, ceilings, flooring and architectural finishes.
• Perform plastering, painting, tiling, waterproofing and carpentry repairs.
• Conduct inspections and report structural concerns.
• Respond to emergencies involving water ingress, flooding and building defects.
  
  

Safety and Compliance

• Follow all Health, Safety, Fire and Environmental procedures.
• Use PPE correctly and report hazards immediately.
  
  

Guest Service

• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with guests.
• Ensure maintenance works are completed with minimal guest disruption.
  
  

General Responsibilities

• Maintain grooming standards and punctuality.
• Support engineering projects and other assigned duties.
