Job Purpose

Assist with Exploration & Resource Development (ERD) geological activities within your team of geologists. Help to identify areas of interest for further exploration and potential resource development. Work closely with other members of the exploration team, including geophysicists, geochemists, and field technicians, to identify and prioritize exploration targets and design effective exploration programs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Contribute to target generation activities and work closely with other members of the exploration team to identify and prioritize geological targets for further exploration, including areas of potential mineralization and new ore bodies. Design exploration programs, including but not limited to mapping, soil sampling, drill rig supervision, core logging, manage field logistics, collect geological data, and evaluate results daily in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Utilize a range of geological and geophysical data sources to identify prospective targets, including structural, lithological, geochemical, and geophysical data.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company, including drilling engineering, environmental, and legal teams, to develop comprehensive exploration and resource development plans.
  • Analyze drilling results and other exploration data to update geological models and refine resource estimates. Prepare technical reports and presentations on exploration results, including geological models, resource estimates, and exploration plans.
  • Proactively upskill yourself by taking part in trainings, mentorships, workshops, and other professional development opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in geological exploration techniques and technologies, and identify opportunities to improve exploration and target generation activities
  • Ensure you maintain the permits, licenses and certification required to perform your role
  • Contribute to the assessment of ERD KPIs (drill targets, new resources, etc.)
  • Promote a Safety First culture in early-stage exploration operations team and implement the Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) management system to ensure team members fulfill standard EHSS processes and operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure that exploration and target generation activities are aligned with overall company goals and strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geoscience or similar

  • Experience in target generation

Minimum Experience

  • > 5 years of experience in geology within mining industry
  • Familiarity with KSA mining, minerals, and exploration sector
