Geotechnical Engineer

China State Construction middle East (CSCEC ME) is recruiting a Geotechnical and Shoring Design Engineer for Engineering Department. The candidate with solid experience in, but not limited to, shoring design for deep excavation and earth retention systems, including sheet piles, soldier piles, secant piles, and diaphragm walls.

Responsibilities:

· Develop detailed designs and calculations for deep excavation shoring systems, including sheet piles, soldier piles, secant piles, and braced excavations.

· Design retaining wall, conduct soil-structure interaction analyses, perform stability assessments, and predict settlement.

· Ensure designs comply with project requirements, UAE codes, and international standards (e.g., BS, Eurocodes, ASTM), and independently prepare comprehensive and detailed design calculations that align with the specified design standards.

· Provide geotechnical input for technical proposals and tender submissions.

· Advise on excavation methods, shoring systems, and temporary works solutions.

· Review geotechnical specifications and collaborate with the tender team to propose safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions.

· Assist site teams in implementing excavation support systems in accordance with approved designs.

· Provide technical advice on construction challenges, design modifications, and unforeseen soil conditions.

· Prepare design reports, method statements, risk assessments, and all necessary documentation for client or authority approval.

· Maintain records of design assumptions, calculation notes, and correspondence related to geotechnical work.

Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.

· A minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical design, shoring, or temporary works for deep excavations.

· Strong experience with sheet piles, soldier piles, secant piles, diaphragm walls, and other earth retention systems.

· Proficiency in geotechnical and structural analysis software.

· Excellent written and spoken English.

· Experience with deep excavation projects, urban construction, or confined site conditions.

· Familiarity with UAE construction safety standards and authority approval processes.

· Dubai Municipality (DM) Engineer Registration.
