Role Overview

Masterminds Early Learning Center is seeking a warm, experienced, and engaging German Language Tutor to provide German language instruction to a 6-year-old student.

This role is ideal for a passionate language educator who enjoys working closely with young learners and can create personalized, engaging, and age-appropriate German lessons that build confidence, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, and early writing skills.

The successful tutor will provide individualized instruction based on the student's existing German language level, learning goals, interests, and developmental needs. Lessons should be interactive, encouraging, and varied, using a combination of conversation, games, stories, songs, reading, creative activities, and age-appropriate learning resources.

The role requires a tutor who is nurturing, patient, highly engaging, well-organized, and able to establish a positive one-to-one learning relationship while maintaining clear learning objectives and consistent progress.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience teaching German to young children, preferably ages 5-10 years.
• Experience providing one-to-one or small-group language instruction is highly preferred
• Native or near-native proficiency in spoken German
• Strong understanding of early childhood and primary-age language development
• Ability to assess a child's existing German language ability and adapt lessons accordingly
• Experience developing age-appropriate speaking, listening, vocabulary, reading, phonics, and early writing skills in German
• Ability to create engaging, interactive, and personalized learning experiences
• Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to motivate and encourage young learners
• Patient, warm, energetic, and adaptable teaching style
• Highly organized and reliable, with strong lesson-planning and preparation skills
• Relevant teaching, language, education, or early childhood qualification preferred

Core Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalized German lessons for a student.
• Assess and continuously monitor the student's German language level, progress, strengths, and areas for development
• Develop lessons appropriate to the student's age, ability, interests, and learning objectives
• Build the student's confidence in understanding and communicating in German
• Develop vocabulary, listening comprehension, pronunciation, speaking, reading, and age-appropriate writing skills
• Use stories, songs, games, role play, conversation, visual resources, creative activities, and interactive exercises to make lessons engaging
• Introduce and reinforce German vocabulary and language structures through meaningful, age-appropriate contexts
• Encourage the student to communicate naturally in German and gradually increase the use of German during lessons
• Incorporate the student's interests into lesson planning to maintain motivation and engagement
• Differentiate activities and teaching strategies according to the student's progress and learning needs
• Prepare appropriate learning materials, worksheets, books, games, and resources for each session
• Maintain a structured yet enjoyable learning environment that encourages curiosity and independence
• Keep brief records of lesson content, progress, and areas requiring further practice
• Communicate professionally with parents and/or the school regarding progress, learning objectives, and recommendations
• Follow all safeguarding, health, safety, confidentiality, and school policies

Working Schedule

• Days: Monday & Wednesday
• Time: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
• Duration: 1 hour per session
• Student: 1 student, aged 6
• Total: 2 hours per week

Compensation & Benefits

• AED 150 – 200 per hour
