FTN Misr For Energy Consulting (Foton Energy Group — Netherland, Türkiye, Egypt) is a verification company operating under ISO 17029 accreditation. We are building our Egypt verification team to serve non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs) — microfinance companies, leasing and factoring firms, consumer finance and insurance companies — that must report and offset their carbon footprint under FRA Decree 36/2026.

Role Description

The GHG Verifier is a full-time, hybrid role based in Cairo, Egypt, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The person in this role will review and verify greenhouse gas inventories, emissions reports, and related documentation for corporate and project-level clients. We're hiring a Verifier to carry out these engagements end to end: from headquarters-level scoping through to the statistically sampled, document-based verification of client branch networks across Egypt.

Run the headquarters side of each engagement: data requests, risk assessment, verification plan and sampling design (including setting statistical sampling parameters), the HQ site visit or online walkthrough, and closing out findings with the client.
Carry out branch-level verification against electricity and gas bills, diesel generator fuel records, vehicle fuel logs and other utility evidence — primarily desk-based, with branch site visits performed where the verification plan calls for one (e.g. higher-risk branches, weak documentary evidence, or client/regulator request); recalculate reported emissions and investigate variances as Corrective Action Requests.
Apply ISO 14064-3 verification method and appropriate statistical sampling to decide which branches are examined and to what depth.
Prepare verification files and statements to a controlled format, working alongside an independent technical reviewer (mandatory second-person review under ISO 14065).
Maintain impartiality per our conflict-of-interest procedures — this is a verification role, structurally separate from any certificate sales or advisory work.

Qualifications

2-5+ years of experience in GHG/carbon verification, environmental or energy auditing, internal/external audit, or financial-sector compliance and assurance — this is a associate-senior, independently-run engagement role, not an entry-level position.
Hands-on experience applying ISO 14064 (GHG quantification and verification) and, ideally, ISO 14065 (requirements for GHG validation/verification bodies) — as a practitioner, not just familiarity with the standards.
A track record of running verification or audit engagements end to end: planning and sampling design, evidence review, findings and corrective actions, and client-facing reporting, with minimal supervision.
Deep comfort with utility invoices, technical fuel/consumption records and financial documentation as audit evidence — able to spot an inconsistency or a weak proof on sight.
Proficiency in quantitative data analysis, including handling large datasets, using spreadsheets or data tools, and checking data quality and consistency.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, energy, accounting/finance or a related field; professional certifications in GHG accounting or auditing are an asset.
Fluent Arabic and working English.
Based in or able to relocate to Cairo; able to travel domestically for headquarters and branch site visits.

Strongly preferred

ISO 14064 / ISO 14065 lead verifier or lead auditor training/certification.
Prior work with or within Egypt's NBFI sector (microfinance, leasing, factoring, consumer finance, insurance) or FRA-regulated entities.
Experience designing or applying statistical sampling (Cochran or equivalent) in an audit or verification context.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, and Power Query, with demonstrated experience analyzing datasets and performing data validation/reconciliation checks.
