We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Technical Documentation Engineer to lead spatial data governance and technical documentation initiatives. The role focuses on building standardized documentation frameworks aligned with international standards (ISO/OGC), ensuring data quality, interoperability, and sustainable geospatial systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage GIS documentation frameworks in alignment with ISO 19131 & ISO 19115 standards
- Govern metadata registries and ensure OGC compliance (WMS, WFS, WPS)
- Document geospatial data lifecycle using UML & BPMN 2.0
- Prepare Architecture Design Documents (ADD) for Web GIS systems
- Maintain change logs, version control, and data lineage reports
- Document geospatial algorithms (Python/SQL) and spatial analysis workflows
- Develop user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and executive-level visual storyboards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geomatics, Computer Science, or related field
- 58 years of GIS experience (minimum 3 years in Technical Writing/Data Governance/System Analysis)
- Strong understanding of Geodatabases, Python, and SQL
- Experience with modeling tools (Enterprise Architect, Visual Paradigm, BPMN tools)
- Knowledge of ISO 19115 / 19131 and OGC standards
- Professional certifications (Esri, GISP, BPMN, ISO) are a plus
