We are looking for an experienced Google Cloud Architect with strong hands-on expertise in GCP infrastructure, cloud migrations, and application modernization. The role involves providing architectural leadership, guiding migration teams, and ensuring smooth execution of VM and application migrations on Google Cloud.
Key Responsibilities
GCP Infrastructure & Cloud Migration
- Design and review Google Cloud architectures with deep expertise in IAM, VPC, IaaS, DBaaS, and Observability (Monitoring & Logging).
- Lead problem determination and triage for Google Cloud 1P products.
- Provide technical leadership in key design and migration decisions.
- Guide and mentor Cloud Migration Engineers during VM migration execution.
- Support migration troubleshooting and hypercare, unblocking technical challenges during VM migrations.
- Execute and oversee migration of agreed virtual machines.
- Prepare migration runbooks, including rollback strategies and change control support.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate migration risks.
- Provide first-line architectural assurance and quality reviews.
- Hands-on experience with Migration Center 1P tools for VM migrations and automation (good to have).
Application Modernization / AppDev
- Design and advise on cloud-native architectures and modernization of legacy applications.
- Support application performance profiling, tuning, and optimization.
- Apply architectural design patterns and best practices across cloud platforms.
- Experience with platform engineering, including:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Automation
- Image management
- Repository management
- Exposure to container platforms, virtualization deployments, application security, and networking.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with and present solutions to technical stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Act as a trusted advisor for cloud architecture and migration strategy.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience as a Google Cloud Architect.
- Deep knowledge of GCP services and architecture.
- Proven experience in VM migrations, troubleshooting, and hypercare support.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to lead, guide, and influence cross-functional teams.
