About the Role
EOG Resources is seeking a Government Relations Expert to lead regulatory processes and stakeholder engagement functions in Abu Dhabi. This role requires a hands-on approach, and will serve as the primary bridge between our operations and the UAE's regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End NOC Execution: Take full ownership of the No Objection Certificate (NOC) lifecycle. This includes the personal preparation of document packages, gathering of data from technical teams, and rigorous follow-up to ensure regulations are followed and approvals secured without delaying operations.
- Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders with exposure to EOG's operations, including the Al Dhafra Municipality, the Abu Dhabi Environmental Agency, CICPA (Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority), Abu Dhabi Police, and ADNOC. Build & maintain high-trust, transparent partnerships to support EOG's long-term objectives
- Operational Integration: Participate actively in division management and operations meetings to stay aligned with EOG's business strategy. Proactively identify potential regulatory bottlenecks before they impact the field.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure all submissions adhere to the highest standards of UAE law and EOG's corporate governance, prioritizing regulatory integrity above all else.
- Field-Based Problem Solving: Travel to external government offices and EOG field sites as needed to troubleshoot issues firsthand.
Required Qualifications
- NOC Technical Expertise: Demonstrated experience in the actual drafting, preparation, and management of NOC document packages in Abu Dhabi.
- Operational Mindset: Treats operations team as primary client. Has a proven track record of meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment without compromising on detail or compliance.
- Communication: Professional-level fluency in both English and Arabic is essential for drafting technical government documents and conducting high-level negotiations.
- Transparency: Proven track record of establishing & maintaining high ethical standards
- Mobility: Willingness to travel between corporate offices, government offices, and occasionally field locations in the Al Dhafra region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Upstream Industry Background: 3+ years of experience specifically within the Abu Dhabi oil and gas industry, with a focus on exploration and production (E&P).
- Agency Experience: Direct, recent experience navigating the protocols of key stakeholders in Abu Dhabi (municipalities, government agencies, police/military/national guard).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of the UAE's evolving energy policies and the specific environmental and security regulations governing the Al Dhafra region.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Law, or a related field.
