We are seeking a strategic and well-connected Government Relations Specialist to join our NGO. In this role, you will act as the vital link between our organization and relevant government authorities. Your efforts will ensure our humanitarian and community projects run smoothly by securing necessary approvals, maintaining regulatory compliance, and building strong partnerships with official stakeholders to amplify our community impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary liaison between the NGO and relevant government bodies, such as ministries of social affairs, local municipalities, and regulatory authorities.
- Secure, manage, and renew essential operational documents, including NGO registration, fundraising licenses, project approvals, and work permits for staff.
- Ensure all organizational activities, campaigns, and funding mechanisms strictly comply with the local legal and regulatory frameworks governing non-profits.
- Build and maintain a strong, positive network of relationships with key policymakers and local officials to facilitate field operations and community outreach programs.
- Troubleshoot and proactively resolve any administrative roadblocks or regulatory issues that may impact the seamless delivery of the organization's programs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Law, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Proven practical experience (3-5 years) in government relations, regulatory affairs, or legal compliance, specifically within the non-profit or development sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of the laws, regulations, and administrative protocols governing NGOs.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and verbal communication skills to effectively represent the organization.
- A strong passion for the non-profit sector, community advocacy, and driving social impact.
