Lead, mentor, and manage the design team across multiple specialties, ensuring balanced workload distribution and fast delivery.
Own brand identity governance and the full creative direction across seasonal campaigns and always-on outputs.
Ensure high design standards and strong QA to eliminate errors and rework.
Ensure outputs are commercially driven, understanding how design impacts conversion rate, campaign performance, and customer actions.
Make fast decisions under ambiguity, especially when information is incomplete or priorities shift.
Build and implement technical workflows and tools that improve speed, structure, and collaboration (including AI-assisted design practices).
Create and maintain design systems, templates, guidelines, and playbooks for scalable production.
Partner professionally with other departments to translate needs into clear briefs, timelines, and deliverables.
Manage priorities, deadlines, and risks under pressure; anticipate bottlenecks and implement mitigation plans.
Benchmark competitors, track market direction, and ensure outputs remain modern and competitive.
Manage external partners and vendors: negotiate scope, timelines, quality, and delivery.
Plan and manage the department budget (tools, subscriptions, vendors, and production needs) to maximize efficiency and ROI.
Develop and enable the team through coaching, upskilling, role clarity, and performance improvement aligned with The Chefz needs.
Job Requirements:
Contribute hands-on to design execution when needed to support critical deliveries.
Proven experience leading a design team in a fast-paced environment, preferably within a company operating in a competitive market.
Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality, clean, and brand-consistent work across digital platforms and campaign outputs.
Hands-on design expertise (not purely managerial), with the ability to execute and guide across multiple formats.
Demonstrated understanding of brand identity systems and seasonal campaign production.
Strong knowledge of production workflows, QA practices, and project prioritization.
Technical awareness of design tools and collaboration systems (e.g., Figma/Adobe suite and workflow/asset tools); ability to implement process improvements.
Familiarity with AI-assisted design tools and best practices for integrating them into team workflows.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
Experience with budget planning and managing tools/subscriptions/vendors is preferred.
Vendor/agency management and negotiation experience.
