Job Description

General Job Summary

Responsible for designing engaging visual media for a wide range of materials, including scheduled promotional posts, advertising layouts, circulars, training programs, and other media. The role utilizes the latest graphic design technologies, tools, and systems while ensuring alignment with the Academy's corporate identity, mission, marketing strategy, and target audiences.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Operational / Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and design visual assets for a variety of media, including scheduled promotional posts, advertising layouts, circulars, training programs, website and social media graphics, brochures, flyers, posters, marketing materials, and other media, ensuring consistency with the Academy's corporate identity.
  • Use the latest design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), to produce accurate, high-quality, and creative graphic designs.
  • Develop distinctive and innovative design concepts by keeping up to date with the latest graphic design trends and benchmarking against creative and innovative designs.
  • Prepare graphic designs in accordance with internationally recognized design standards and principles, including print and bleed specifications, color modes such as RGB and CMYK, and other technical requirements relevant to the requested design.
  • Apply Color Theory principles to create visually appealing, balanced, and harmonious designs.
  • Revise and amend designs accurately and within the required timeframe based on feedback from the direct manager.
  • Determine the appropriate size and placement of visual assets, images, typography, and other design elements when preparing media materials.
  • Save and export graphic designs in the required formats and quality standards, and prepare files for printing in different sizes, resolutions, and color specifications.
  • Design visual elements for the Academy's brand identity, including logos, business cards, and marketing materials.
  • Prepare and deliver visual presentations of design concepts and explain the rationale behind design choices to the direct manager.
  • Coordinate with external printing companies, when required, to meet deadlines and ensure the highest quality of printed materials.
  • Recommend subscriptions to graphic design resource platforms such as Canva, Shutterstock, Freepik, and other relevant platforms to access high-quality and up-to-date design assets.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the direct manager that are related to the scope of work.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field.
  • Professional or specialized certifications in graphic design from recognized training providers are preferred.

Professional Experience

  • 3–5 years of professional experience in graphic design or a related field.
  • Previous graphic design experience within the academic or education sector, preferably with reputable or well-established organizations, is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in the latest graphic design software, particularly Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
