Graphic Designer Job Description
The graphic designer s role is to create visual text and imaginary concepts using design software. He/she will combine images, illustrations, and text to bring an idea to life. Able to develop the overall layout and production design for ads, brochures, magazines, corporate reports, etc.
Responsibilities and Duties
Managing and posting on all social media platforms.
Photograph events and activities.
Edit photos and video content.
Proficient use of editing software (ex: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
Create designs using illustration, photo editing, and layout software.
Select colors, images, typography, and layout for communication materials, including websites, logos, signs, books, magazine covers, annual reports, advertisements, and social media posts.
Illustrating concepts by designing rough drafts of art arrangement, font size, and style, and submitting for approval.
Use digital graphic design software to create graphic images and design layouts that communicate school messaging and achieve artistic or decorative effects, including a selection of colors, images, and fonts.
Amending designs based on feedback.
Ensuring final graphics and layouts are free of errors and visually appealing.
Keep up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.
Creating a wide range of graphics/ layouts for product illustrations, logos, and websites and submitting them for approval.
Coordinating with outside agencies, art services, web designers, marketing, printers, and colleagues as necessary.
Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing tasks as needed in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor s degree in graphic design or related field.
Experience as a graphic designer or in a related field.
Good photography skills.
Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign Quark, and/or Illustrator.
Self-starter, effective time management skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Able to give and receive constructive criticism.
Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, typography, and principles.
Media production, communication, and dissemination techniques.
Capable of delivering brilliant creative ideas, and showing amazing attention to detail.
Organization and ability to juggle multiple projects
