Graphic Designer (Retail)
Role Purpose
Support the Retail function in delivering best-in-class merchandise by designing compelling, guest-centric products. This role is responsible for the design of multi-category retail merchandise, signage, and packaging across the organisation's retail estate, ensuring consistency, creativity, and excellence in execution.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Creative Development
- Design retail merchandise across multiple product categories (e.g., apparel, accessories, souvenirs, packaging).
- Create high-quality visual assets that align with brand guidelines and enhance the customer experience.
- Develop concepts, sketches, prototypes, and final artwork for retail products and in-store graphics.
- Ensure all designs meet production requirements and are optimised for manufacturing.
- Maintain consistency of visual identity across all retail touchpoints.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with internal teams including Retail, Marketing, Brand, Procurement, and Operations.
- Collaborate with external partners such as agencies, vendors, printers, and manufacturers.
- Ensure effective communication, timely follow-up, and smooth coordination with all stakeholders.
Project & Workflow Management
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept to delivery.
- Ensure deadlines, quality standards, and brand expectations are met.
- Prepare and organise design files, production specifications, and artwork packages for vendors.
- Support the development of seasonal product ranges, limited-edition items, and special event merchandise.
Quality & Brand Consistency
- Uphold brand guidelines across all creative outputs.
- Review samples and prototypes to ensure product accuracy and visual quality.
- Provide creative input to elevate the retail offer and improve product storytelling.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong creative and conceptual design abilities.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Working knowledge of print processes, materials, and product manufacturing.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to interpret brand guidelines.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to manage deadlines and work efficiently across concurrent projects.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
- Experience in retail, merchandise, consumer products, or similar design environments.
- Portfolio demonstrating multi-category product design and brand-aligned creative work.
